Our chartered Madison boat rentals are operated by highly rated and trained captains – all captains are WI boater safety certified. They are here to help keep you safe while you sit back, relax, and enjoy your outing with no stress or concerns.

Our captains will tell you a little about Lake Mendota, guide you to popular spots, anchor or tie up the boat where needed, and even toss you a drink while you’re in the water.

Many of our captains have been with us for multiple years and they all have extensive experience driving a variety of boats for a range of customers and parties.

Know Before You Go

  • CANCELLATION: We’ll collect a $100 deposit now and the rest on the day of your outing. Deposits are non-refundable unless outings are canceled due to rain or sustained winds over 15mph. Cancellations within 48 hours of reservation result in the full amount being charged except when canceled by Capitol Boat Club for inclement weather.

  • GRATUITY: Gratuity for captains is not included in the price of the rental. Driver’s keep 100% of the tips they receive.

  • ADD-ONS: Due to liability and insurance reasons, our captains are not permitted to pull a tube for guests, but you can add a LIly Pad!

  • RESTRICTIONS: All boats are limited to their listed capacity and weight restriction – drivers count towards the listed capacity. There is NO SMOKING, NO GRILLING, NO RED WINE, and NO PETS allowed onboard.
