🌊 Coming This Summer: “All Aboard Boat Adventures!”

A New Partnership Between Verona Senior Center & Capitol Boat Club

Together, Capitol Boat Club and Verona Senior Center are excited to introduce a brand‑new program designed to bring joy, connection, and a little lakeside magic to the older adults in our community. Together, we are launching All Aboard Boat Adventures — a wellness‑focused boating experience on beautiful Lake Mendota.

Many seniors have fond memories of time spent on lakes, docks, and boats. This program brings those moments back to life while creating new opportunities for friendship, relaxation, and fun.

🚤 What the Adventure Includes

Participants will enjoy:

  • A two‑hour captained boat ride on Lake Mendota

  • A picnic box lunch

  • Round‑trip transportation from Verona Senior Center

  • A welcoming, supportive environment designed for comfort and connection

Capitol Boat Club provides trained captains and safe, accessible vessels. Verona Senior Center handles registration, fees, transportation, and staff support — making the entire experience easy and enjoyable.

💙 Why This Program Matters

Loneliness among older adults has become a growing and epidemic concern nationwide. Shared experiences like boating can make a meaningful difference by:

👥 Who Can Participate?

The program is open to members served by Verona Senior Center, especially those looking for:

  • Social engagement

  • Outdoor recreation on the lake in nature

  • A chance to revisit meaningful lake‑life memories

Each trip can accommodate up to 14 participants, based on vessel size and safety guidelines.

🕘 A Typical Day on the Water

  • Morning departure from Verona Senior Center

  • Two‑hour scenic boat ride starting at 10:30 am

  • Picnic box lunch following the boat ride around 12:30

  • Return to the Senior Center in the early afternoon

💲 Cost

  • Participant Fee: To include boat ride, lunch, transportation, and administrative support
    Final per‑person cost to be determined by the Verona Senior Center.

📅 Registration

Registration will open soon through Verona Senior Center. If you are not a member, this no cost membership registration is required to sign up for the program. Our first launch date is planned for mid -July. An update will be provided when registration is available.
